We are currently recruiting an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join a newly formed team at a leading Investment Bank and work on a multi-year migration to cloud project.

The role will sit within a centralised cloud and infrastructure team that's assigned with the delivery of a major AWS cloud migration project across multiple locations, and affecting different areas within the trading technology group.

Candidates wishing to apply must have expert level knowledge on AWS and ideally have done at least one cloud migration project within a large financial institution.

Required experience

• Strong data engineering skills
• Expert level knowledge on AWS
• Must have done recent work on cloud migration to AWS
• Experience with Redshift
• Data query optimisation and performance tuning
• AWS S3 - Data Lake storage
• EKS for scaling containerised applications
• Python
• Infrastructure as code (IaC)
• CloudFormation, Terraform
• Nice to have: Cloud security (IAM)

This is a greenfield and important project for the client with backing from the highest levels of the technology and business group. The successful candidate will help re-shape the way data is used across the business, which will lead to innovative data solutions and new opportunities for the business.
